About the Committee

The Data Centre & Data Centre Interconnection Committee is the FTTH Council Europe's newest committee, established to reflect the Council's expanded remit across data centres and the fibre infrastructure that connects them.

The Committee's current work programme includes a report on hollow core fibre (HCF) and multi-core fibre (MCF), a DCI market study developed with the Board, and updates to the Market Panorama to capture the Council's broader scope. Alongside this, the Committee is developing a programme of educational webinars for members on AI-driven data centres, covering the underlying drivers and market trends, internal data centre architectures and wider interconnection architectures.

The Committee also leads the data centre and interconnection content at the annual FTTH Conference, shaping several hours of programming across the full breadth of the Council's expanded remit.
Further outputs will follow, including new assets, market studies and content developed for the upcoming FTTH Conference. Click here and join us!

Panel 7 - Towards FTTH maturity, what is next?

As countries around Europe continue to invest in full fibre coverage, it is important to consider what comes next: what happens when a market approaches 90% FTTH coverage? What are the next goals and challenges for all stakeholders as they adjust to a new paradigm?

This panel session brings together prominent experts of different backgrounds from the telecom industry, to discuss the experiences and perspectives of countries already facing these issues. Be prepared for a thought-provoking discussion on how telecom operators, investors, and regulators alike shall adapt their strategies to look beyond the priorities of today.

Speakers: Alejandra De Iturriaga Gandini - Director of Telecommunications and Audiovisual Sector at Spain's National Authority for Markets and Competition (CNMC), Elin Bertilsson - Business Area Manager at Karlstads El- och Stadsnät, João Teixeira - CTIO at Altice Portugal, Kristian O.
