About the Committee

The Data Centre & Data Centre Interconnection Committee is the FTTH Council Europe's newest committee, established to reflect the Council's expanded remit across data centres and the fibre infrastructure that connects them.

The Committee's current work programme includes a report on hollow core fibre (HCF) and multi-core fibre (MCF), a DCI market study developed with the Board, and updates to the Market Panorama to capture the Council's broader scope. Alongside this, the Committee is developing a programme of educational webinars for members on AI-driven data centres, covering the underlying drivers and market trends, internal data centre architectures and wider interconnection architectures.

The Committee also leads the data centre and interconnection content at the annual FTTH Conference, shaping several hours of programming across the full breadth of the Council's expanded remit.

The summit is the most important event for electronic media in Poland, permanently entered into the calendar of the cable, television, and telecommunications industries. This year, the conference, chaired by the slogan "Media and telecommunications in the age of artificial intelligence", was hold at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Łódź, on October 2-4, 2023. Speakers of the event are representatives of the Government, Parliament, European Commission, regulators, foreign and national network operators, TV broadcasters, suppliers, and producers of audiovisual content as well as equipment, infrastructure, technological and ICT solutions. The event consists of a conference and an exhibition where the largest players in the industry presented their products and services.  As in previous years, the conference gathered the most important stakeholders representing leading companies in the television and telecommunications market from Poland and around the world.
