About the Committee

The Data Centre & Data Centre Interconnection Committee is the FTTH Council Europe's newest committee, established to reflect the Council's expanded remit across data centres and the fibre infrastructure that connects them.

The Committee's current work programme includes a report on hollow core fibre (HCF) and multi-core fibre (MCF), a DCI market study developed with the Board, and updates to the Market Panorama to capture the Council's broader scope. Alongside this, the Committee is developing a programme of educational webinars for members on AI-driven data centres, covering the underlying drivers and market trends, internal data centre architectures and wider interconnection architectures.

The Committee also leads the data centre and interconnection content at the annual FTTH Conference, shaping several hours of programming across the full breadth of the Council's expanded remit.
Further outputs will follow, including new assets, market studies and content developed for the upcoming FTTH Conference. Click here and join us!

Speaker: Raf Meersman - President
Date: 30 October 2023
Location: Ifema Feria de Madrid - Madrid, Spain

Madrid Tech Show is Spain's go-to exhibition for tech business. With more than 15.000 visitors, +400 exhibitors, and +350 speakers, it consolidated as the reference event for managers and professionals in the cloud, cybersecurity, big data, AI, data centers, eCommerce and digital marketing sectors. After the success of our last FTTH Conference, which took place in Madrid earlier this year, our President Raf Meersman delivered a keynote presentation on the status of the fibre optic market in Europe as part of the programme of day 1, with particular emphasis on the Spanish market, one of the most mature when it comes to FTTH deployment. In addition to his keynote, Raf also moderated a panel session with prominent representative from Spain's connectivity sector, during what promises to be a truly animated discussion around the issue of high-speed infrastructure, and how tech players are reacting to the latest market trends and dynamics.
