About the Committee

The Data Centre & Data Centre Interconnection Committee is the FTTH Council Europe's newest committee, established to reflect the Council's expanded remit across data centres and the fibre infrastructure that connects them.

The Committee's current work programme includes a report on hollow core fibre (HCF) and multi-core fibre (MCF), a DCI market study developed with the Board, and updates to the Market Panorama to capture the Council's broader scope. Alongside this, the Committee is developing a programme of educational webinars for members on AI-driven data centres, covering the underlying drivers and market trends, internal data centre architectures and wider interconnection architectures.

The Committee also leads the data centre and interconnection content at the annual FTTH Conference, shaping several hours of programming across the full breadth of the Council's expanded remit.
Further outputs will follow, including new assets, market studies and content developed for the upcoming FTTH Conference. Click here and join us!

Engaging the Value Chain Through Climate Action

Event: Produrable 2025
Speaker: Xavier Renard - Board Member, FTTH Council Europe

Date: 8 October 2025, 14:00-14:45
Location: Paris, France
Organiser: Produrable / Toovalu

As businesses faced mounting pressure to reduce emissions and align with sustainability goals, the challenge of decarbonising entire value chains became central to climate strategies - especially in tackling indirect Scope 3 emissions, which often accounted for the majority of a company’s carbon footprint.
This interactive session brought together voices from a European industry federation, a French industry collective, and a major cooperative retailer to explore practical, scalable pathways to low-carbon transitions. The panel shared real-world examples of how organisations were engaging upstream and downstream partners in the shift to sustainability, highlighting new models for systemic change.
The discussion offered diverse perspectives - from fibre infrastructure and home improvement to retail - on leveraging climate as a catalyst for sector-wide transformation.
