About the Committee

The Data Centre & Data Centre Interconnection Committee is the FTTH Council Europe's newest committee, established to reflect the Council's expanded remit across data centres and the fibre infrastructure that connects them.

The Committee's current work programme includes a report on hollow core fibre (HCF) and multi-core fibre (MCF), a DCI market study developed with the Board, and updates to the Market Panorama to capture the Council's broader scope. Alongside this, the Committee is developing a programme of educational webinars for members on AI-driven data centres, covering the underlying drivers and market trends, internal data centre architectures and wider interconnection architectures.

The Committee also leads the data centre and interconnection content at the annual FTTH Conference, shaping several hours of programming across the full breadth of the Council's expanded remit.

Market Intelligence Committee Progresses on Report Upgrade and Content Consolidation

The Market Intelligence Committee is making steady progress on its report upgrade plan, which is proceeding as scheduled, with the first draft expected by early February. A preview of the data has already been received and reviewed, while the provider continues to complete the data collection and analysis phase.

In parallel, the Committee is evaluating the opportunity to develop a single, consolidated document that includes all assets. This approach aims to standardize the layout and optimize content to enhance discoverability on Google and AI-driven search engines. By doing so, the Committee seeks to improve both the usability and visibility of its materials, ensuring that industry stakeholders can access high-quality, actionable intelligence more efficiently.

This initiative reflects the Committee’s commitment to providing timely, reliable, and user-friendly insights, supporting informed decision-making across the FTTH sector and reinforcing the value of well-curated market intelligence in driving industry growth and innovation.
