About the Committee

The Investments & ESG Committee brings together the work of the Council's former Investors, Sustainability and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion committees under a single structure, reflecting how closely capital, environmental performance and social responsibility are now linked in digital infrastructure.

The Committee provides a forum for investors, operators and industry experts to examine the financial and non-financial factors shaping fibre and data centre investment across Europe. Its scope spans the investment landscape and financing conditions for network rollout, the environmental footprint and sustainability credentials of fibre infrastructure, and the governance and diversity practices that support a resilient, competitive industry.

By combining these perspectives, the Committee aims to give members a clearer view of how ESG considerations influence investment decisions,  and how the sector can demonstrate its value to the investors, policymakers and stakeholders who rely on that evidence.

The exponential rate at which technology is developing, mutating, and adapting is so fast that we have to apply certain effort to keep pace with technological change and how it will affect our business and lives. While the future is becoming more difficult to predict with each passing year, an accelerating pace of technological change can be expected. To date, technology has literally changed every aspect of the way any business operates and never before in history has that change occurred so fast.

During this panel session, our Director General Vincent Garnier joined other prominent representatives from our sister Councils in an expert conversation around the state of fibre optic in the different regions of the globe.

Conext 2022 aimed to keep participants informed of the sector advancements as we explore the world of Digital Infrastructure as well as its impact on the industry and the opportunities it holds for the continent.

The 2022 edition once again brought together like minded individuals from all over the world over a 2 day period with expert speakers sharing local and international expertise on various topics pertaining to digital infrastructure deployment.

The FTTH Council Europe has been a proud partner of the 2022 edition, which confirmed speakers from the United States, Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific.
