About the Committee

The Investments & ESG Committee brings together the work of the Council's former Investors, Sustainability and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion committees under a single structure, reflecting how closely capital, environmental performance and social responsibility are now linked in digital infrastructure.

The Committee provides a forum for investors, operators and industry experts to examine the financial and non-financial factors shaping fibre and data centre investment across Europe. Its scope spans the investment landscape and financing conditions for network rollout, the environmental footprint and sustainability credentials of fibre infrastructure, and the governance and diversity practices that support a resilient, competitive industry.

By combining these perspectives, the Committee aims to give members a clearer view of how ESG considerations influence investment decisions,  and how the sector can demonstrate its value to the investors, policymakers and stakeholders who rely on that evidence.

Powering Europe’s digital future: Stefano Fogli on the evolution of Fibre Council Europe

Fibre Council Europe President Stefano Fogli has been featured in a new interview with Digitalisation World and Data Centre Solutions, discussing the evolution of the organisation and the broader role of fibre across Europe’s connectivity ecosystem.

During the interview, Stefano explains the transition from FTTH Council Europe to Fibre Council Europe and how this evolution reflects the changing needs and priorities of the industry.

The discussion explores a broader range of areas shaping the future of fibre connectivity, including residential access, the migration of HFC networks to fibre, data centre connectivity and Passive Optical LAN.

This expanded scope reflects Fibre Council Europe’s ambition to bring its expertise and advocacy to a wider part of the connectivity ecosystem, while remaining focused on its core mission: accelerating fibre adoption across Europe and powering Europe’s digital future.
