Open Access Committee: From Conference Debate to New Initiatives

The Open Access Committee had a strong presence at the FTTH Conference, hosting a targeted workshop with case studies on how standards and technology are enhancing the Open Access customer experience, and delivering a panel session that brought together investors, Tier-1 multinational operators, aggregators and a national Open Access provider to debate what is required to unleash the power of Open Access.

The Committee is now progressing several key initiatives. It is drafting a paper on Open Access strategies aimed at unlocking ecosystem value while safeguarding investment, reviewing models across Europe and assessing progress to date to help shape future direction. In parallel, work has begun on a Europe-wide database of Open Access providers, mapping their products and services to improve transparency and enable better industry collaboration.
