As Europe advanced toward technological sovereignty and a more competitive industrial base, the transition from 5G to 6G offered significant opportunities to align research, innovation, and investment with the needs of key industrial sectors, including mobility, logistics, energy, defence, and manufacturing.

This exclusive invitation-only roundtable convened senior decision-makers from telecom operators, technology players, vertical industries, cloud and satellite providers, and EU policymakers. The discussion focused on identifying actionable strategies that could turn advanced connectivity into tangible economic value for Europe. Key topics included evaluating business readiness in industry segments, leveraging current and future 5G/6G technology capabilities, deriving lessons from 5G commercial impact, and exploring EU policy and funding approaches to accelerate adoption.

FTTH Council Europe contributed expert insights on how fibre infrastructure and connectivity solutions could support the deployment and monetisation of advanced networks, ensuring Europe’s industrial competitiveness. In-person participation was encouraged to engage directly in this strategic dialogue and to network with stakeholders shaping Europe’s digital infrastructure priorities.
